'Dead Presidents'

In movies, desperate veterans often turn to crime, from Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney in 'The Roaring Twenties' to Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack in the original 'Ocean's Eleven.' Here, it's Anthony (Larenz Tate), who plots an armored car heist while struggling in a South Bronx that's no less hellish than Vietnam was. The Hughes brothers' drama is one of the few that focuses on the difficulties faced by African-American veterans.
