'Stop Loss'
After a horrific tour of duty in Iraq, Ryan Phillippe is ready to return to small-town life, only to learn at the last minute that he's to be redeployed. Instead, he goes AWOL on a crusade to end the stop-loss policy. Some veterans have criticized this movie for inaccuracies, but it seems to get some things right, like post-traumatic stress disorder (in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's haunting performance), or the outrage among some veterans over being asked to sacrifice even more in order to compensate for the policy failures of politicians insulated from the consequences of their mistakes.
