'March of the Wooden Soliders' (1934)
"As far as I can remember I always associate 'The March of the Wooden Soldiers' with Thanksgiving. As a child, I remember waiting with anticipation to see the movie that WPIX would play every Thanksgiving morning. I would skip the parade to watch this movie that scared me with the attack of Toyland by the bogeymen, and watch with exhilaration when the soldiers came to life. The great music accompanying the soldiers defeating the bogeymen only added to the excitement. I watch this every year as a tradition; I guess it brings the boy out in me and reminds me of simpler times I had with my father, mother and brother and sister. It's a part of me and trying to pass the tradition down to my kids even though the effects are primitive by today's standards."
