12. Edward Ivory in 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (1993)

In Tim Burton's mutant holiday hybrid, poor Santa is victimized over and over. Not only is he kidnapped, imprisoned, and nearly killed, but he has his mojo and humor stolen by Halloween king Jack Skellington, who's misguided effort to play Father Christmas without scaring the sugar plums out of the world's children is the movie's main joke.
