At the end of 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,' everyone assumes the two gunslingers die in battle (it's technically never shown). However, in the story of 'Blackthorn,' Cassidy did survive and is now quietly living out his days in a Bolivian village. Of course, he eventually gets thrust into one last high-risk situation.
