Alfonso Cuaron ('Gravity')

The last film Alfonso Cuaron directed was one of the best of the last decade: 'Children of Men.' The visionary director returns in 2012 with 'Gravity,' a space-set two-hander that stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts who experience a large trauma during a mission, and the race that ensues to make it home. 'Gravity' reportedly features an opening sequence that was done in one take -- similar to the long takes in 'Children of Men' -- so it's likely that everyone you know who went to film school will drool all over themselves until this one finally comes out.
