'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'

Disney closes out the summer with a (very) off-beat fantasy. Jenifer Garner and Joel Edgerton star as a young couple who are unable to conceive a child. One night they write down everything they wish for in a child, and bury the list in the backyard; a mysterious rainstorm occurs and, when they wake up the next morning, they find a soil-covered ten-year-old boy named Timothy waiting for them. Now blessed with the son they always dreamed about, the parents find their lives changing in magical ways. 'Timothy Green' doesn't have any talking animals or cute cartoons, but is sure to appeal to families looking for a strong character-based story; it doesn't hurt that the movie is from Peter Hedges, writer of 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?,' 'About a Boy' and 'Dan in Real Life.'
