Tom Cruise in 'Footloose'

Everyone loves Kevin Bacon in the original 'Footloose,' but Tom Cruise probably would have made a pretty cool Ren McCormack in his own right. Cruise passed on the role because he had already committed to doing 'All the Right Moves.' Wrong move?
