John Travolta in 'Forrest Gump'

Here's one you should be (very) grateful didn't happen. Apparently, John Travolta turned down the chance to play Forrest in 'Forrest Gump,' an iconic part that eventually went to Tom Hanks. With Hanks, who won an Oscar for his portrayal, the film is considered a classic; with Travolta, it probably wouldn't be.
