'Lethal Weapon' (1987)

Because 'In the Heat of the Night,' 'Silver Streak' and '48 Hours' weren't enough, here's 'Lethal Weapon.' More than race relations, however, this film revels in personality differences between its two leads. Simply put: Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is getting too old for this [stuff], while Riggs (Mel Gibson) is a nut job. These two crazy kids are going to have to work together to solve the big case! They do, and managed to do it so successfully that the film spawned three sequels. If anyone wants to do 'Lethal Weapon 5,' here's guessing Mel is free.
