Back to 14 Great Movie Odd Couples
'Silver Streak' (1976)
Everett Collection
Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor might not have seemed like a natural pairing at first, but they were after 'Silver Streak'; the two would star in three other movies together following the success of this comedy-thriller blockbuster. Wilder is George, an everyman in the mold of Alfred Hitchock's great everymen; Pryor is a small-time thief who helps George clear his name. He also puts Wilder in blackface. Awkward.
