3. Skeletor in '50/50'

Adam gets cancer, so his sort-of-well-meaning girlfriend (Bryce Dallas Howard) presents him with a dog, because they're "healing." Adam reluctantly agrees to keep super-skinny greyhound Skeletor out of guilt. The girlfriend doesn't stick around, but Skeletor does, proving who really is man's best friend. (Besides Seth Rogen.)
