Clooney's Best & Worst Movie Roles

In the early '90s, TV star George Clooney transformed himself from sideline dud/e on 'Roseanne' to 'ER's' hunk of wood with one visual expression -- that tilt of the head accompanied by furrowed brow that exuded a jaded yet benign sense of superiority -- to becoming that rare thing, an empathetic movie star who can act.

And he's not so bad with a gun, as he displayed in 'The Thin Red Line' and 'King Kong.'

But jumping six neck sizes to take Arnold Schwarzenegger's place as an exterritorial-battling badass? Hmmm. Check out 10 other good (or even great) actors who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
