Ricky Gervais Announces Movie Plans for New TV Sitcom

Whether you love him, hate him or just get increasingly annoyed at his presence, Ricky Gervais isn't going anywhere soon. The latest news from the Gervais empire is that he's planning a movie version of his new TV show 'Life's Too Short' - and that's before it's even hit the small screen. Surely it must be a corker?

Coming to BBC2 soon, Life's Too Short is an observational comedy which, according to Gervais, is based on "the life of a showbiz dwarf." The show stars Warwick Davies, the famed 3ft 6in actor who first appeared as the Ewok, Wicket, and has subsequently starred in Willow and some of the Leprechaun horror series.

It will also feature cameos from the writing partnership of Gervais and Stephen Merchant, whose last film Cemetery Juntion opened in April. Gervais has said of 'Life's Too Short: "It's about his life – the life of a showbiz dwarf. He plays himself, we play ourselves, it's sort of like Curb Your Enthusiasm."

Saw Director Faces Internet Backlash for Upcoming 11 11 11 Movie

You simply can't buy pre-publicity like this. A new numerological horror, based on the '11:11' theory (more on that in a bit), hasn't even gone into production yet and already various intenet-lurking nutcases have taken umbrage with it and are threatening to derail the project using their collective mindbending powers. Brilliant!

As reported by Cinematical, Darren Lynn Bousman, the director with the impressive CV (joke) of Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV and the wholly unnecessary remakes of Scanners and Mother's Day, is preparing to make the movie '11 11 11'.

According to Bousman, the film is about the, "11 gates of Heaven and how on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes." I guess that 49 minute window means the 'something' has to get back to its realm for a 12pm lunch date.

For the un-mystical among you, the '11:11' theory is vaguely conspiratorial/mainly spiritual and is based on the idea that the presence of the number is attributed to angels and other spiritual sources trying to make contact with us.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Movie Review: We Give Our Verdict

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - the new film from Edgar Wright and based on a cult graphic novel - is in cinemas from 25 August and it's the most ridiculous rock n roll film you'll see all summer.

Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is a 22-year-old bass player, hanging out with his band in Toronto and crashing on his gay best friend's floor. Things change for Scott when Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) moves to town; as he falls for her it becomes clear that the only way Scott can win her heart is to take on all of her exes and beat them in battle. Well, we've all been in that situation...

Happy Birthday: Sir Sean Connery Turns 80 (VIDEO)

Sir Sean Connery, the 'greatest living Scotsman' turns 80 today (25th August) and, while Sir Sean has a movie career spanning a whopping 56 years, it is his portrayal as James Bond 007 in seven Bond films that made his name.

Born in Edinburgh in 1930, Connery's early career choices included being a milkman, sailor, artist's model and coffin polisher until he discovered the joys of acting whilst working backstage at a theatre. After a few minor roles in films such as A Night to Remember and The Longest Day Connery hit the big time in the first 007 film, 1962's Dr. No.

His cocky, insouciant introduction ("The name's Bond... James Bond") and imposing frame made him the benchmark by which all subsequent Bonds have failed to measure up to. Can you imagine Connery wearing a girdle, as Roger Moore did? No.

Who's The Movie Kill King? See 'The Expendables Cast Body Count' Chart

The ExpendablesHere's something of interest for all you action film pub bores out there: TermLifeInsurance has produced a 'Body Counts for The Expendables Cast' info chart that counts each individual actors movie kills, film by film.

Trust me, someone out there is already learning these stats off by heart.

Surprisingly, the man who comes out on top of all this destruction is good old Dolph Lundgren, definitely the craziest Expendable, who has totalled a psychopathic 632 screen kills in 36 movies (that's an average of 17.5 per film). Stallone, who comes second, looks like a total washout out with a measly 340.

It'll come as a surprise to many that the ending to Rambo IV, where Sly spends at least an hour behind an anti-aircraft gun wiping out the Burmese Army, actually only gave Stallone a tally of 80 kills. Weird... it felt like he would carry on until everyone in the world who wasn't American had taken a sizable bullet to the face.

Edward Furlong Ordered to Stay Away from Wife Due to 'Threatening Voicemails'

Troubled actor Edward Furlong seems to have taken a summer class at the Mel Gibson School of Phone Charm and has subsequently been hit with a restraining order from his estranged wife for leaving her "vicious and threatening voicemails".

The Terminator 2 star's wife, Rachael Kneeland, has been granted the temporary order which states that Furlong must stay 100 yards away from her and their three-year old son, Ethan. Even though the couple split up last year, Furlong has been leaving some rather brutal voicemails (and text messages) for Kneeland, which she is expected to play at the court hearing later this month.

TMZ.com have a transcript of the messages and it's safe to say that they're too expletive-laden to appear on a nice family website like this. However, whittled down, the messages basically state that Furlong doesn't want Kneeland's new boyfriend to be near their son, otherwise Furlong will rip his heart out and feed it to him, saying to Kneeland "you see if you like him still when his [..] little pretty face is all deformed."

Tolkien as the backdrop for his two most well known creations, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Walk as a human among dwarves, elves, orcs and hobbits -- all faithfully recreated and portrayed in the spirit of the original characters as they appeared in both the books and the movies..."
