Whether you love him, hate him or just get increasingly annoyed at his presence, Ricky Gervais isn't going anywhere soon. The latest news from the Gervais empire is that he's planning a movie version of his new TV show 'Life's Too Short' - and that's before it's even hit the small screen. Surely it must be a corker? Coming to BBC2 soon, Life's Too Short is an observational comedy which, according to Gervais, is based on "the life of a showbiz dwarf." The show stars Warwick Davies, the famed 3ft 6in actor who first appeared as the Ewok, Wicket, and has subsequently starred in Willow and some of the Leprechaun horror series.
It will also feature cameos from the writing partnership of Gervais and Stephen Merchant, whose last film Cemetery Juntion opened in April. Gervais has said of 'Life's Too Short: "It's about his life – the life of a showbiz dwarf. He plays himself, we play ourselves, it's sort of like Curb Your Enthusiasm."

Brilliant!
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - the new film from Edgar Wright and based on a cult graphic novel - is in cinemas from 25 August and it's the most ridiculous rock n roll film you'll see all summer.
Sir Sean Connery, the 'greatest living Scotsman' turns 80 today (25th August) and, while Sir Sean has a movie career spanning a whopping 56 years, it is his portrayal as James Bond 007 in seven Bond films that made his name.
Here's something of interest for all you action film pub bores out there:
Troubled actor Edward Furlong seems to have taken a summer class at the Mel Gibson School of Phone Charm and has subsequently been hit with a restraining order from his estranged wife for leaving her "vicious and threatening voicemails".
Fancy a weekend break somewhere a little more enchanting than a Travelodge? Well, if internet rumour is to be believed you could soon be heading off to a Middle Earth theme park where "you'll experience one-of-a-kind rides and attractions that bring to life some of the most memorable experiences of Tolkien's world." Phew...
