One of the most recognized couples in Hollywood, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee met in 1946 while performing in the Broadway drama 'Jeb' at the Amsterdam Theater in New York City. Three years later a Baptist preacher in Jersey City, New Jersey married them after Ossie proposed to her via telegraph.
