Didn't quite get your fill of the flesh-eating through 'Zombieland's' brisk 88-minute run time? Good news: Director Ruben Fleischer confirms that the folks at Sony, the film's distributor, are interested in a sequel.The newcomer to feature films told Moviehole that the second iteration of the zom-com would likely be in 3D.
"The genre really lends itself to (3D)", said Fleischer. The principals of the original cast -- Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone -- are reportedly interested in another go around with the undead as well. Read
That significant '80s cultural artifact 'The Howling' is coming back just in time for Halloween 2010.According to Variety, Joel Kastelberg and Etchie Stroh of Moonstone Entertainment are prepping a reboot of the popular franchise aptly titled 'The Howling: Reborn.' Joe Nimziki, who penned the script, will make his directorial debut on the werewolf-themed relaunch. The first iteration of 'The Howling' was a gritty and somewhat tongue-in-cheek 1981 horror film directed by Joe Dante from a script by John Sayles. The franchise ultimately produced six sequels before sputtering out with the regrettable 'Howling VI: The Freaks' in 1991. The plot of 'The Howling: Reborn' is under wraps.

It looks as though Disney's big-budget epic 'Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' has been scuttled before it even set sail. Variety has confirmed that Disney has placed the film on hold indefinitely. The February production date had been fast tracked by then-Disney studio chief Dick Cook back in January. New Disney chief Rich Ross, however, is in the process of restructuring the movie studio. Instead, the the fourth installment of Disney's tried-and-true hit 'Pirates of the Carribbean' will be the studio's "next big water-based shoot." Read
Who is in the mood for a big, fat British period drama?A slew of British film royalty are joining the cast of Tom Hooper's 'The King's Speech,' according to the UK's The Guardian. The Tom Hooper-directed film chronicles the early life of Queen Elizabeth II's father King George VI, who was afflicted with a stutter.
Helena Bonham Carter, Australian Guy Pearce, Timothy Spall and revered stage performer Michael Gambon will join Colin Firth in the period drama currently in production in the UK. Firth plays the lead, the shy second son of George V, known universally as "Bertie." George V, who was King during the Second World War, was thrust onto the world stage after his brother Edward VIII (who will be played by Pearce) abdicates the throne to marry American divorcee and socialite Wallis Simpson. Are moviegoers willing to watch Greenpeace the movie? National Treasure director Jon Turteltaub is on board to produce a film on the origin of the Greenpeace. Aurelius Films is handling the financing. The project will be produced by Jerry and Janet Zucker of Zucker Productions. Janet and Jerry, no slouches to activism themselves, started Proposition 71, the California Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative, which passed in 2004. Read
