Was Reese Witherspoon's MTV Movie Awards Speech Directed at Blake Lively?

Reese Witherspoon Blake Lively MTVFrom PopEater: Reese Witherspoon used her MTV Generation Award soapbox to tout the idea of a new kind of Hollywood 'it' girl in a slap on the wrist speech directed at some of Tinseltown's leading young ladies.

"I know it's cool to be bad, I get it ... but it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show," Witherspoon preached. "When I came up in this business, you made a sex tape and you were embarrassed and hid it under your bed and like if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hid your face."

Christopher Plummer on 'Beginners' and Going Nuts From 'The Sound of Music'

From PopEater: Christopher Plummer's latest role in 'Beginners,' is somewhat of a departure. He plays the father of Ewan McGregor who has two big announcements -- that he has terminal cancer and (surprise!) he's gay. It's a lovely, bittersweet movie with yet another winning performance from the 81-year-old Canadian. In a chat with PopEater, the beloved stage, TV and film actor spoke about the motivation behind his latest role, then dips into the past by defending his decision to turn down the role of Gandalf in 'The Lord of the Rings' (too much time commitment) and becomes flustered when reminded of fans' enduring obsession with the most visible film in his 100-film-plus catalog, 'The Sound of Music.'

"Yeah, it drives me nuts," he says about all the fuss over the 1965 film. "It has nothing to do with the movie, it's just a relentless pursuing of this film that goes on and on and I've gone on and on, far above and beyond it and then to be reminded of it. God almighty what is the matter with people?"

Taylor Lautner Dropped by Publicist Over Daddy Issues

From Popeater:

Taylor Lautner is making the leap from teenybopper science-fiction to full blown action star, but one person who won't be making that leap with him is his publicist, Robin Baum, of Slate PR. The 'Twilight' actor was in megastar company at the PR firm -- Slate also represents action and drama heavyweights like Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig -- before they told him to hit the road.

But according to The Hollywood Reporter, it wasn't his performance as a client that landed Lautner in the doghouse, it was his daddy. The 'Abduction' star's father, Daniel Lautner, is reportedly one difficult stage dad for whom Baum had absolutely no tolerance.

Hoping to market Lautner as more than the 19-year-old kid that he is, Slate dropped the talent after only three months serving as his agency -- Lautner's dad proved to be too involved in the young actor's career choices.

Talk about daddy issues. But Lautner's papa better watch out, from what we remember the 'Twilight' hunk turns into a hulking werewolf when he's gets more than a little peeved.
