Daniel Radcliffe Admits to Alcohol Problem

'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe may play a high-school wizard on-screen, but he recently admitted that he also battled his demons after the director called cut. The 21-year-old divulged to GQ magazine (via People) that he has been sober since August 2010, but had previously suffered from a dangerous drinking problem.

"I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff," he said. "There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me."

Radcliffe, who is currently starring in the Broadway musical, 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' explained that his battle with alcohol first came to light on the 2009 set of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.' But no magic wand to save him here, it was only by luck that Radcliffe's addiction stayed out of the public domain.

"I really got away with that because there were so many instances when a paparazzi shot like that could have been taken," he explained regarding his visibly intoxicated bouts.

Friend: Jonathan Rhys Meyers Did Not Attempt Suicide

From PopEater: 'Tudors' star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to a Central London hospital Tuesday night after reports that he had taken a large quantity of pills in an attempt at suicide, according to The Sun. Now, a friend of the actor is speaking out, saying that Meyers' dangerous condition was due to a relapse rather than a go at taking his own life.

"It was not a suicide attempt," a source close to the actor told Us Weekly. "He did relapse and was hospitalized for that, but was released."

Paramedics arrived at the troubled star's Maida Vale home Tuesday evening to find Meyers "slumped" on the floor. But upon their arrival, the actor refused medical attention, prompting paramedics to call the police.

Alec Baldwin Considering a Bid for NYC Mayor?

Alec Baldwin Anthony Weiner MayorFrom PopEater: Are we in for another dose of 'Will I or won't I?' Donald Trump–style celebrity politics, or is Alec Baldwin legitimately planning a run for mayor of New York? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the '30 Rock' boss may be interested in throwing his hat into the New York mayoral election ring now that Rep. Anthony Weiner's Twitter scandal has most likely deterred him from running.

"Alec said, 'Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted," a friend of the actor told The Daily. "The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill."

And a high-profile candidate he is, the actor's Twitter account was on fire Wednesday afternoon after he tweeted, "It's a long way till November of 2013."

Anne Hathaway Gives Stuntman Black Eye

Anne Hathaway catwoman black eyeFrom Popeater:

Anne Hathaway isn't kidding around when it comes to making her role as Catwoman in the forthcoming Batman flick, 'The Dark Knight Rises,' as real as it gets -- even if that means roughing up some of her stuntmen.

While filming a fight scene, Hathaway got a little too excited with her butt -- the butt of her gun, of course. The actress struck a stuntman with the butt of her prop gun, landing him a killer black eye, according to the The Sun.

"Anne got a bit carried away during a fight scene and mistakenly shoved the butt of the gun right into the actor's eye socket," a source said. "He came away with a massive black eye -- Anne was mortified."

But Hathaway hoped to make it up to her fellow on-screen fighter with the peace offering of a cleverly engraved silver pen -- "Remember no one packs a punch like Anne."

If the flick, also starring Christian Bale and Tom Hardy, is this action packed behind-the-scenes, we can't wait to see the real thing on the big screen next summer.

'Lost' Creator Slams January Jones' Performance in 'X-Men: First Class'

From PopEater:

'Lost' co-creator Damon Lindelof is not a fan of January Jones' performance in 'X-Men: First Class,' and he has no problems expressing it.

After watching last week's no. 1 movie at the box office, Lindelof took to his Twitter page to praise the movie and some of the performances, "Dug FIRST CLASS though, especially [Michael] Fassbender, [James] McAvoy and the best deployment of the PG-13 single-use eff-bomb I have ever seen."

However, he was less than kind to Jones' acting skills.

In the movie, Jones plays the character of Emma Frost, and Lindelof talked about Frost's powers in the movie, or lack thereof.

Lindelof tweeted this message, "Emma Frost's THREE mutant powers: Telepathy, Transformation to Solid Diamond and last but not least, Sucking at Acting."

Clearly, we will not be seeing Jones acting in any of Lindelof's shows anytime soon.
