We Talk With Selena Gomez About 'Monte Carlo,' Learning a British Accent, Challenging Herself

Forget the fact that she's a former Disney star who's releasing a music album the same week as a major motion picture -- those are certainly reasons to be exhausted.

But it seems that American actress and pop singer Selena Gomez had an additional challenge when she accepted the role of Grace in 'Monte Carlo,' a romantic comedy directed by Tom Bezucha, due in theaters July 1. In the film, loosely based on Jules Bass's 2001 novel 'Headhunters,' she not only had all her lines to memorize, but had to deliver them in a convincing British accent.

Edward Furlong, Slash Team Up for 'This Is Not a Movie'

It appears the Mexican-made 'This Is Not A Movie,' starring Edward Furlong, Peter Coyote and Edi Gathegi, for which former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash did the original music score, has been completed and is "coming soon," as it states on its dedicated Facebook page.

A two-minute trailer can also be downloaded in HD (Warning: Trailer includes some foul language) and includes snippets of the score. It definitely rocks in spots, especially the final clip.

"It sounds great," Slash tells Moviefone. "You know what? I did stuff for that movie I did not know I had in me. It sort of put me in a whole different place. It's really all different kinds of stuff. There's some rock and, actually, some of the songs on [my solo album], parts of them are in that movie because that's when I originally had the idea."

Hot Docs: 'Furious Pete' Is Gross and Inspiring

Furious PeteThere are moments in 'The Story Of Furious Pete' that will make you turn away in disgust, and perhaps even cover your eyes.

But the film isn't a horror or even a crime thriller. It's a documentary chronicling an all-or-nothing young man who went from battling anorexia nervosa to becoming one of the world's top competitive eaters, vacuuming down bananas, ribs and hot dogs in record time.

"Yeah, yeah, it's gross at times, for sure. I agree," laughs Toronto's Peter Czerwinski, a.k.a. Furious Pete, a 24-year-old student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, whose ultimate goal is to work for NASA, not to eat himself into oblivion.

Trailer Killed the Movie Star

I don't need to see the upcoming film 'Brothers', starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman. Not that I would anyway, but after seeing the trailer, I now know a Marine dies and his brother slithers into the role as "caretaker" for the widow and kids. Then, of course, it turns out he's not dead, blah blah blah. I won't give any more away, but the trailer goes on after that, revealing even more of the plot. Thank you Lionsgate. I can save my $11 when it hits theatres December 4.

I hate trailers. I particularly hate that I'm a hostage of sorts in the theatre, there early to get a seat, but forced to watch four or five trailers. Should I close my eyes and stick fingers in both my ears, repeating "lalalalala I can't hear you; I can't hear you"?
