'The Descendants' Trailer: George Clooney Takes Care of the Kids

Earlier this month, we got a teaser of director Alexander Payne's hotly awaited 'The Descendants,' and now the full-length trailer for the George Clooney vehicle has landed.

In the clip, Clooney's character tries to reconnect with his two young daughters (Shailene Woodley, Amara Miller) after his wife is injured in a boating accident. His noble attempt at providing normalcy comes undone when his elder daughter Alexandra (Woodley) reveals that his wife had been cheating on him.

Lushly shot and delicately observant, the barely-two minutes of footage here is reminiscent of Payne's Oscar-winning 'Sideways,' and that's a very good thing. (This is Payne's first film in seven years.) 'The Descendants' opens in theaters Dec. 16.

Check out the trailer after the jump.

Sarah Palin Documentary 'The Undefeated' Will Feature Hollywood Stars Saying Mean Things About the Former Governor

In June, 'The Undefeated,' a feature-length documentary about Sarah Palin's rise to national prominence, will be released in theaters in an effort to reform the former Alaskan governor's image as she entertains the idea of a 2012 presidential run.

Late last year, Palin aide Rebecca Mansour reached out to conservative filmmaker Steven Bannon, the documentarian behind the Tea Party doc 'Generation Zero,' to develop a series of videos to protect Palin's reputation and legacy after she stepped down as governor of Alaska. Bannon decided instead to craft a full-length film and even reportedly self-financed the $1 million flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, two versions of 'The Undefeated' will be released. One is aimed at a general audience and features interviews with Palin supporters, residents of Alaska and conservative bloggers in an effort to clear up alleged misconceptions about Palin, while a second, unedited doc will feature anti-Palin clips from Rosie O'Donnell, Matt Damon, Bill Maher, David Letterman, Howard Stern and Louis C.K. to illustrate the allegedly unfair and cruel treatment she received during her vice-presidential run.

Kathryn Bigelow's Film About Black Ops Mission to Kill Osama bin Laden Lands Distributor

Oscar-winning 'The Hurt Locker' director Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming drama about the black ops mission that killed Osama bin Laden has landed a distributor.

Sony's Columbia Pictures will release the Mark Boal–scripted film in late 2012 with high hopes that it will be a major awards contender. Bigelow and Boal have been developing the film since 2008 and are in the process of reworking the script to incorporate the raid on bin Laden's compound and the al-Qaida leader's death into the story.

"With the death of Osama bin Laden, this film could not be more relevant," Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal said in a statement. "Kathryn and Mark have an outstanding perspective on the team that was hunting the most wanted man in the world. Mark is second to none as an investigative journalist, and Kathryn will bring the same kind of compelling authenticity and urgency that distinguished 'The Hurt Locker' and made that film so memorable and special."

Relativity Media One-Ups Universal by Moving Its 'Snow White' Film to March

Your move, Universal.

Just last week, Universal Pictures caused a stir when it moved 'Snow White and the Huntsman' from December 2012 to June 1, just three weeks before the previously established June 29, 2012, release of Relativity Media's 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.' Now, Relativity is biting back by moving 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White' to March 16, 2012, more than two months ahead of Universal's rival fairy-tale pic.

Unfortunately for Universal, it doesn't seem like there's much it can do to counteract Relativity's move. 'Grimm' is set to start shooting next month, while 'Huntsman' goes before cameras at the end of summer, and according to Variety, the 'Huntsman' start date cannot be moved up because star Chris Hemsworth is currently filming Joss Whedon's superhero mega-movie 'The Avengers' and simply will not be free to begin work for Universal until later this year.

The monster-movie craze knows no bounds. First came the zombies, then the vampires and werewolves, and now another classic monster is about to make a major comeback.

Federal Judge Sides With Warner Bros., Denies Tattoo Artist's Request to Block Release of 'Hangover 2'

A federal judge in Missouri has denied famed tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill's request to block Warner Bros. from releasing 'The Hangover Part II.'

Whitmill gave Mike Tyson the well-known facial ink that allegedly inspired Ed Helms' tat in the film; he claimed copyright infringement because the studio did not seek his approval before using the design. According to Whitmill, his design for Tyson is "one of the most distinctive tattoos in the nation" and he owned the rights to it.

"We are very gratified by the court's decision which will allow the highly anticipated film, 'The Hangover Part II,' to be released on schedule this week around the world," Warner Bros. said in a statement. "Plaintiff's failed attempt to enjoin the film in order to try and extract a massive settlement payment from Warner Bros. was highly inappropriate and unwarranted."
