Elfquest Fans Make Their Own Movie

From ComicsAlliance: A landmark of self-publishing and cult success, Wendi and Richard Pini's Elfquest is among the many independent comic book series whose translation to film could actually be pretty cool. Ang Lee's Unused 'Hulk' Robot Busts Out Of Its Shirt

Animatronic Hulk
Truly, Steve Johnson is the richest fuel for the Internet's geek blog engine. The special effects master known for his creature work on such films as 'The Abyss,' 'Ghostbusters,' 'Spider-Man 2,' and 'Where the Wild Things Are' was the source of some of ComicsAlliance's most popular blog posts after he released never-before-seen photos of costume concepts for 'Superman Lives,' the aborted Tim Burton film that was to star Nicolas Cage as a bizarre glow-in-the-dark Man of Steel.

Johnson recently launched a YouTube channel with which to release tens of thousands of hours of behind-the-scenes footage from his 30-year career in special effects, and among that material is an astonishingly advanced animatronic version of the Hulk. Developed for Ang Lee's 2003 film 'The Hulk,' the unused robot appears to eclipse the middling quality of the CGI version we ultimately saw.

Check out video of this technological marvel after the jump.
