Superman and Lois Lane Break Up; Who Will Be There for Jimmy Olsen?

From ComicsAlliance: DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio teased a "reexamined" relationship between Superman's Clark Kent persona and Lois Lane in the relaunched DCU earlier this month, leading many to imagine a relationship that either hasn't happened yet or didn't manifest into marriage.

Today at The Source, DC confirmed that Superman's 'Action Comics' adventures will reflect a very different Man of Steel that sees him single, orphaned, flightless and sporting a costume that will evolve from street wear to Kryptonian-influenced armor.

What's more, his love Lois Lane will have a new gig -- and a new love interest -- at The Daily Planet.

Dazzling New Widescreen Art for Film's Most Iconic Heroes

From ComicsAlliance: Artist and movie buff Justin Reed specializes in slightly caricatured, pop-culture-inspired group shots, and boy, can he paint the white Kryptonite out of Christopher Reeve getting a talking to from the disembodied head of Marlon Brando.

Most of Reed's paintings use a slightly fish-eyed perspective to accentuate his panoramic formats. He's done Jay and Silent Bob, the cast of the Spider-Man and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. If you dig process posts, he's shared a number of fine examples on his art blog, and if you want to look at some large images of his work, he's got plenty of those posted on JustinReedArt.com.

'Penny Arcade' Webcomic to Become Animated Film From Paramount Pictures

From ComicsAlliance: The mega-popular webcomic 'Penny Arcade' is heading to the big screen as an animated feature -- kind of. Rather than featuring Gabe and Tycho, the alter egos of creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik whose gaming adventures usually dominate the strip, Paramount Pictures plans to base the movie on a one-off Penny Arcade comic from 2010 called 'The New Kid.'

The strip introduces us to a familiar situation: a young boy nervous to begin classes at a new school, and frustrated that his father's job keeps uprooting his life and forcing him to start over. The twist? Rather than moving to different states or even countries, this boy is faced with the prospect of being the new kid on a totally different planet.

New Footage From the 'Blade' Anime Finally Arrives (VIDEO)

From ComicsAlliance: It's been almost two years since the initial announcement of Marvel's 'X-Men,' 'Wolverine,' 'Iron Man' and 'Blade' Madhouse anime projects, but the line will finally come full circle as everybody's favorite vampire slayer's series debuts in Japan on July 1. Animax has launched a new website providing a look at the series' cast of characters, along with a short video teaser.

While the 'Blade' anime hasn't received an official release date in North America or an localized English dub cast, the Japanese staff seems pretty interesting. Directing is Mitsuyuki Masuhara with a script by 'Battle Royale' movie franchise veteran Kenta Fukasuka.

Story details are also fairly sparse, but shoddy online translations of the site's Japanese text make it pretty clear that Blade will be teaming up with a young vampire hunter from Japan, plus Noah Van Helsing (of the Helsings!) and his awesome dog Razor against the evil Deacon Frost and his minions in Asia. Good guys vs. bad guys in a cool part of the world? Seems pretty solid so far.

'X-Men: First Class' Teasers Introduce Havok, Banshee and Beast

As the film establishing the movieverse origins of Marvel's merry mutants, 'X-Men: First Class' is in the unique position of not only telling backstories, but also debuting new special effects for the mutants' powers. MTV's three new video segments spotlighting Alex Summers / Havok (Lucas Till), Sean Cassidy / Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) and Hank McCoy / Beast (Nicholas Hoult) flesh out both halves of the equation and give fans one of their closest looks at the June 3 film yet.

The three young mutants all face their share of tragedy. Havok's powers have hurt those closest to him; Beast is so driven to become normal that he accidentally becomes even more mutated-looking; and Banshee, well, he's just got zero game. For a dude his age, that may well be the worst curse of them all.

Get a glimpse of Havok, Banshee and Beast's 'First Class' personas below (from our friends at Comics Alliance).

The Hulk Smashes 'Eat, Pray, Love'

From ComicsAlliance: It was only because of a recent twist of fate that the Hulk found himself watching 'Eat, Pray, Love' the other night, prompting the green goliath to pen a furious yet uncommonly thorough 7,000-word analysis of the Julia Roberts film that has laid waste to so many before him. Writing on 'FILM CRIT HULK! HULK BLOG!,' in a piece entitled, "HULK WATCH EAT, PRAY, LOVE FOR YOU A**HOLES," the Hulk said he felt that author/main character Elizabeth Gilbert was "LARGELY CRITICIZED FOR WRONG AND ODDLY SEXIST REASONS," and that he was compelled to articulate, insofar as the incredible Hulk can articulate anything, why 'Eat, Pray, Love' is so awful and why its creator seems to suffer from "CRIPPLING SELF-CENTERED-NESS."

Based on the memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert and directed by Ryan Murphy, 'Eat, Pray, Love' is the story of a 30-something American woman who initiates a divorce from her husband before taking a year-long journey around the world to complain about everything in a breathtaking expression of so-called "white people problems." At least, that is how the Hulk characterizes the film.

Horribly disfigured and cursed with endless rage as a consequence of a gamma radiation explosion, the Hulk began his treatise by noting that he is not against "chick flicks."
