It's 11-11-11: Movies That Made Numbers and Dates Terrifying

When you think about it, numbers are pretty darn scary. Remember how terrifying they were staring up at you from complicated math exams in school? Stupid numbers in stupid equations that just wouldn't solve themselves! Dates with significant numbers and sequences do a pretty good job of getting us all riled up. Case in point: The year 2000. Don't act like you didn't think about stockpiling food or building a panic room.

Some folks are worried about the ominous date 11-11-11. And, of course, there's a movie coming out to tap into our irrational fears. It's called – yep – '11-11-11.' So many ones! The horror! One is, ultimately, the scariest number of all since it ties into one of the most common human fears -- loneliness -- and we all know that one is the loneliest number.

Have you seen the posters for David Fincher's adaptation of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' yet? If not, what are you waiting for? One (my personal fave) features Rooney Mara's profile silhouetted across half of Daniel Craig's mug. The other, more scandalous, international poster shows a topless, pierced Mara with a grumpy-looking Craig embracing her from behind. And no, his hands aren't covering her naughty bits, a la Janet Jackson's iconic 1993 Rolling Stone cover. She is exposed.
