Generally the business of sequels is pretty obvious: a movie is good enough to warrant seconds. But, sometimes, bad movies are inexplicably smacked with a part deux (or -- gasp -- even trois). Count this as one of those times: according to Variety, Sony pictures is toying with a sequel to the phoned-in comedy 'Grown Ups.' The 2010 buddy movie was marketed as catnip for SNL-lovers of yore, reuniting Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider and despite being unanimously panned, 'Grown Ups' grossed $271 million worldwide. (And you thought "Jack and Jill" earning $79 million thus far was shocking.)
For now, 'Grown Ups 2' is just a twinkle in Sony's eye and Sandler's involvement is apparently "contingent on the script." (This would be his first sequel.) But hey, crazier things have happened: ahead, 9 bad movies that somehow got a second chance at the multiplex.
