What Did You Think of 'Breaking Dawn'?

Wasn't too thrilled with Julia Jones acting, for the most part. Same goes for Boo-Boo. Thought the entire wolf pack was a bit short changed, probably by the screen writer.

I felt Taylor should have been "angrier" in certain parts, (ie the wedding scene) and more passionately distraught in other scenes. (seemed too 'humdrum' at times?) Throughout the movie series, I've been most impressed with Taylor's acting, till now.

I agree that the Jacob becoming Alpha scene could have..no Should have been a lot better. The distorted wolf-mind jabber was indecipherable for the most part. An epic moment, somewhat spoiled.

I thought the last part of the movie was "rushed", compare to the rest. Being used to the book, I had to really pay attention to the ending, them having changed it up a bit (wolves at the Cullens, fighting even?) This was made difficult due to the young girl behind me who felt it necessary to first scream (during the birth scene) and then converse very loudly with her girlfriend about absolutely nothing during the actual climax of the story. (Thanks btw, you little sh*thead)

Despite these qualms, I did like the movie. Rob an Kristen's acting has improved. No where near where it should be, but for the most part, I really enjoyed it. Especially after going back another night for a second showing, and getting to soak up the ending. Sans little sh*thead. :)

It's fantasy. Enjoyed the movie and the book. I don't know why so many of you think the acting is bad. I think they all are great. You shouldn't anticipate what the movie will be and just enjoy it for what it is. THERE ARE NO VAMPIRES, it's just a movie.

To Tanahy - the Volturi scene happens after all the credits finish rolling, so you have to make sure that you stay for it when you go to see the movie again. The second time I saw it, I was yelling in the theater that it wasn't over so everyone wouldn't file out and miss it:)

I LOVED the movie! I laughed, I cried. It was the best Twlight movie to date!

I do think that they should have done the werewolf pack scene better (where Jacob claims his alpha status and leaves Sam's pack).

I will also admit that I have to watch the movie again because I don't recall a Volturi scene. Especially Aro pointing out misspelling and Carlisle's poor grammar. I guess I was so enthralled with Bella, Edward, Jacob and the pregnancy that I don't remember anything else.

I can't wait to see BD Part 1 again, and now the countdown for Part 2 begins. Why are they making us wait a year?!

Like all the twilight movies so far, this one had its moments of perfection in tone with the book, wonderfully done and a few scenes that were so bad they took away from the entire movie experience. The wedding was perfection! The birthing scene was the first time they really rocked to the horror of the series. However, the best Jacob scene in the book as a wolf was ruined in the movie by making it so bad it was cartoonish! Could they not have done the wolf pack scene better where Jacob embraces his alpha heritage? It was such a badly done part of the movie that it ruined it for me.

To Sarahadamsrice - in regards to your #20 comment...the Volutri scene was obviously supposed to be setting you up for the next movie. Clearly they were showing you that the birth announcement was not from the Cullens, that is why Aro points out the misspelling of Carlisle's name and the poor grammar, which Carlisle doesn't have. They know right away that someone sent that announcement to set the Cullens up (Irina), and I think that's why they drag Bianca away because they realize she was doing someone else's dirty work.

As to the rest of your comments, I really think this book was the hardest to adapt to the screen, and just like the Harry Potter films, they can't fit every detail from the books into the movies. I don't think the things that they made minor alterations to greatly changed the overall story. Whether she ate the chicken at midnight or in the morning, doesn't greatly impact the film...either way it made her throw up.

I am sorry you didn't like the film more. I personally thought it was the best adapted one of all the books. I thought the director did an awesome job. I do agree that the actress that portrays Leah definitely needs some lessons, as do some of the other werewolve characters. I also agree that Seth did a good job in his role.

Hopefully, you will like the next Breaking Dawn installment better.

19. And Edward bit Bella all over immediately when he stabbed her with the venom syringe; it was all part of the transformation, not an after thought. And I thought it would have been nice, instead of all the memory flashes, if you could see inside her head and hear the breathing of Edward and the fluttering heart of Renesmee and the footsteps and the whoosh of fabric. And if Alice told Edward that she could see her clearer and it was only a matter of time now.
20. And the Volturi scene at the end...what was that? They were never given an announcement; only an invitation. They had no idea about the baby or Bella until Irina went to Italy.
Okay, what else??? Can you tell I've been up half the night thinking of this? Oh, and where was the Christina Perri song? Actually, she supposedly wrote that after seeing the movie, but then why is it in the soundtrack??

14. Not that I wanted more interaction with Seth, but he was in the house, as well, and there was that scene where he was keeping Bella warm and Jacob got all jealous. And a lot more quarreling between him and Rosalie. And Jasper and Emmett and Alice were never around in the book; they were researching. And Alice had a headache around the baby and Bella and it would have been nice to see her interaction with Jacob as her pain killer. And it would have been nice to see Jacob sleeping in the doorway and Rosalie or Alice shove a pillow in his
face that burned his nostrils.
15. And the whole Switzerland thing/medical center was ridiculous. It was Atlanta which is a ton more believable.
16. And she was breathing and her heart was beating on the table after the birth. And Jacob stopped caring and Edward broke his fingers by swatting him away and told him to leave. There was supposed to be this moment where Jacob believed she was dead because there was no pull so he stopped trying. She looked way too dead...there should have been a
heart beat sound or her breathing.
17. The birth should have been bloodier and there should have been something extra dazzling about the baby. She immediately was beautiful which may be hard to do when you are covered with blood but there should have been something....oh, yea, maybe a head of hair? She
already had teeth and ringlets and all that. And the chocolate eyes.
18. Edward would never have left her lying there to go fight the wolves. Jacob imprinted and then he ran off to La Push to tell Sam and renew the treaty. Oh, and Edward was supposed to ask Jacob's permission as the Alpha to turn Bella. It was a huge question and a
huge response from Jacob.

10. And back to the beginning and the retelling of his hunting human days was absolutely ridiculous. She already knew he hunted humans before and why would he be telling her that on their wedding night? The story she was supposed to be thinking of is the story of the
immortal children, thus the dream, thus the baby.
11. The wolf scenes were awful. None of them except for maybe Embry can act (aside from Jacob; I thought he did a good job). They were supposed to be more in wolf form and communicating to Edward via mind reading. Of course, the one scene while they were in wolf form and communicating was so hideously done and so not believable (i.e.
cartoon?) but still...there needed to be more indication of the sacrifice Jacob was making, of the fact that they had to "hunt" in order to eat. There needed to be more of a motherly role from Esme where she gives them clothes and food. And the dog bowl with Fido
inscribed in it was missing, as was the omelets and the cinnamon buns. And Leah telling Bella off. And Jacob driving in the Aston Martin to the city to try to imprint. And the connection between him and Bella while Renesmee is growing inside of her.
12. The visual effects on Bella were not realistic at all. They should have stuck to the makeup and forgotten the computer effects. You could see the blur on her legs and face where they edited. Very distracting. Plus she didn't seem as weak as she should have. She could barely lift her head in the book. Rose had to prop her up to drink the blood.
13. Edward's anger towards her in front of her was infuriating. He purposely was supposed to keep this "dead" face on in front of her and keep everything inside, only telling Jacob so as to not upset her. And when Carlise tells her (as if it were not obvious) that the fetus is
not compatible with her body and it's so shocking and a revelation, it's like, really? Do you think that's the answer?

Okay, so after barely sleeping (I think I finally fell asleep around 5 am) I have more disgruntledness to add but, first, I was just reading the comments/spoilers post (well skimming it) on robstenation because there has to be more people who were disappointed and there were NOT! Am I that picky? I guess I just LOVED the book so much and so it was
so disappointing to me that it wasn't true. I think I blame Melissa Rosenberg the most, but I also feel like Stephanie is just money happy. Bill Condon probably thought he was doing her justice.
Here's my not complete list:
1. The nightmare before the wedding where they are both dressed in white...it was terribly done but also did not involve the baby which I think was so integral to the movie. The nightmares she has explain why she thinks it is a boy and also gives insight to her future, the
fight, etc.
2. I HATE that Irina was at the wedding.
3. The preacher/minister SUCKED. His smug expression made me want to slap him.
4. I hate the interaction between Charlie and Renee. It's supposed to be positive and endearing and make Bella think that everything is going to be okay once she is not human.
5. It was huge of Bella to have asked Alice to be her maid of honor. And she wasn't. And no silver dress.
6. The bachelor party scene...I thought it was so weird when they jumped into the window. It was like they were dolls or something. Bad job of ropes/visual effects, etc. (Jasper and Emmett).
7. Still hate that she wore a cream dress and not blue to the honeymoon.
8. A lot of scenes that we have seen over the year or past few months were cut from the honeymoon. I thought it was important to see her chowing down on those eggs all the time and doing things that exhausted her...not playing chess. She was supposed to want him so
much but be so exhausted and famished every day that she fell asleep. Plus there were two beds: white was feathers and blue was headboard. And the maid was supposed to be covered in feathers. And the clothing (all of it) was supposed to be trashy (thanks to Alice). And the fish/onion food from the maid. And the pretzels that she was chomping on. And she threw up many times. And she made chicken in the middle of the night and then fell asleep and then woke up in Edward's arms and threw up. And then ate eggs. And there was a lot more communication between her and the nudger. I thought they could have done a bit more
with her belly considering she looks down and says, "That's impossible," and she is looking down to a flat stomach. And she calls Rosalie from the house, not from the car.
9. Oh, and the whole interaction about the feathers and bruises was so underdone. It was so important that we understand that Edward felt like a monster and that was so understated.
