More 'Burt Wonderstone' casting news that could only be described as -- wait for it -- magical! (GROAN!) (SERIOUSLY?) THR reports that Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi are in negotiations to join Steve Carell, Jim Carrey and a currently negotiating James Gandolfini in the magician comedy for New Line Cinema. Abracadabra! Or something.
'Wonderstone' focuses on two estranged Las Vegas magicians (Carell and the role Buscemi would play) who team-up to take on a dangerous street magician (Carrey). Wilde would play Carell's love interest -- his former assistant who now works with Carrey's character. Gandolfini will play a billionaire casino boss.
While Buscemi seems somewhat, there are conflicting reports on Wilde. Deadline reports that she's merely on the list of potential co-stars with Sarah Silverman, Judy Greer and Jessica Biel. Both THR and Variety have Wilde negotiating for a part in the film. Stay tuned.
Directed Don Scardino ('30 Rock'), 'Burt Wonderstone' is set to go in front of cameras in January.
