During the press rounds for 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon,' it was assumed that Michael Bay would not return to the franchise for any future installments. The director told MTV that he planned to make 'Pain & Gain' next -- a true-life story about a kidnapping plot in Florida gone awry -- for the modest sum of $20 million. He still might, of course -- just not if Hasbro has its way.

During a conference call with analysts earlier on Monday, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner relayed the news that the company is "actively discussing" a fourth 'Transformers' film with Bay, producer Steven Spielberg and Paramount. "Hopefully I'll have more news for you next quarter." Radio-tease that sucker, Brian!

While it was assumed 'Dark of the Moon' would be the "last" 'Transformers' film, that seems mostly unlikely. After all, the film grossed $1.1 billion worldwide and will help Hasbro sell toy from now until Boxing Day.
