Last night, I received an urgent message from editors: "With 'Moneyball' coming out this weekend, you should write a piece on the best movies about baseball." "Sure," I replied. Now, I've been told that this topic has been written about numerous of times -- which is surprising. I don't quite understand why it's so popular; it seems very specific, and I can't imagine that there's a large audience for such a thing. (Maybe there's a sexual fetish that I'm not aware of.)
