What would it take for Joaquin Phoenix to come out of retirement? If you guessed "Scientology," then you're right. (Why did you guess that? The headline? Oh.)
Phoenix, whose last film was the weird mockumentary 'I'm Still Here,' might put aside his early retirement to co-star in Paul Thomas Anderson's much-anticipated Scientology film, which was at one point titled 'The Master.'
Philip Seymour Hoffman will co-star as a charismatic leader fashioned after Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard; Phoenix would play Freddie Sutton, "an alcoholic drifter who becomes [Hoffman's on-screen] right-hand man only to begin questioning his manipulative mentor."
Would you want to see Phoenix come out of retirement for this film? Tell us in the comments.
