As we've been reporting, Hollywood is fixated on fairy tales, and the fairest of them all has several projects in the works. Singh's still-untitled version (currently called 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White') is competing with Universal's production featuring Kristen Stewart as the princess who eats the poisoned apple. There's also Disney's 'Snow and the Seven,' which will take place in China during the 1800s, swapping the seven dwarfs for warriors.
Relativity's 'Snow White' is aiming to hit theaters before Universal's, with a June 29, 2012, release. Melisa Wallack ('Meet Bill') and Jason Keller ('Immortals') have reportedly written an edgier, more modern tale, full of comedy and adventure. Collins, who resembles a young Brooke Shields and Jennifer Connelly, will also be featured in the upcoming 'Priest,' 'Abduction' and 'Mortal Instruments,' so her dance card is full. Working with Singh, however, is guaranteed to be a visually intoxicating experience.
We're already convinced of Singh's ability to transform this age-old tale into something even more breathtaking, but did the director pick the right princess for the job? How do you think Collins will fare against Stewart's take on the role?
