In that film, he comes off as an unbeatable, shadowy force capable of anything in order to keep his long-held record on the game Donkey Kong. The problem, of course, is that, unlike Darth Vader and Hannibal Lecter, Billy Mitchell is a real person with a family and a business. Oh, and that the filmmakers behind 'The King of Kong' have been accused of selectively editing their footage to make Mitchell seem like a true villain.
But how much of that depiction is true? And how accurate are the accusations? We will probably never know the full story. But Moviefone was thrilled when, at a recent tournament involving the 1982 TRON arcade game, Billy Mitchell agreed to speak with us about the lessons he learned from taking part in 'The King of Kong.'
