Comic Book Resources has an exclusive second clip for the eighth, PG-13-rated, direct-to-DVD film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line released by Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation, Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Based on Judd Winnick's controversial "Under the Hood" story arc published in DC's Batman comic from February 2005 through April 2006. Winnick also wrote the comic book-to-small-screen adaptation. Batman: Under the Red Hood is also based on writer Jim Starlin and artist Jim Aparo's "A Death in the Family" story arc that ran from 1988 through 1989 in Batman (issues 426-429). If you're familiar with one or both story arcs, then you know where Batman: Under the Red Hood will go, but if you're not, it's best to be leave the description as spoiler free as possible.

In Batman: Under the Red Hood, Batman/Bruce Wayne comes face-to-face with a new, but familiar, face, the Red Hood, a violent vigilante who attempts to fight crime (and criminals) in Gotham City through a combination of unorthodox techniques. As Batman and the Red Hood repeatedly clash, other key players in Gotham City's criminal underground, including the Joker, Ra's al Ghul, and Black Mask, add another layer of complications to an already complicated situation.

Here's the second clip from Batman: Under the Red Hood ("You're Dead"):

Here are links to the first clip and trailer.

Batman: Under the Red Hood hits real and virtual stores July 27th. Attendees of this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, however, will get a chance to see Batman: Under the Red Hood before everyone else. Those of us not attending Comic-Con this year will be jealous, but at least we won't have to wait more than a few days before we can see Batman: Under the Red Hood for ourselves.

Batman: Under the Red Hood will be available on Blu-Ray and a 1- or 2-disc DVD, On Demand, and download. The Blu-Ray also contains a DC Showcase: Jonah Hex animated short, two featurettes, and two bonus episodes selected by writer-producer Bruce Timm from Batman The Animated Series Season 1.

After checking out the second clip, are you looking forward to Batman: Under the Red Hood? Will you rent or buy Batman: Under the Red Hood the day it drops or wait a week or two (or more)?
