Hammer Films has picked up a franchise-happy flick called Wake -- with Kasper Barfoed set to direct. The spec script is written by Chris Borrelli, who has the supernatural-thriller, Whisper, under his belt. Barfoed's last effort, Kandidaten (The Candidate) is currently being remade with Sam Worthington on tap to join. The director is also set to start The Numbers Station -- an Ethan Hawke thriller -- so the guy obviously has some crossover genre appeal that Hammer seems to be going for with their newly recreated image. The story is being described as "Transporter-style" which I'm not sure will be full embraced by all of Hammer's old skool horror fan base -- but time will tell. More info on this project as we get it. Thoughts?
