Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is now a video game (for iPhones, iPads, and the iPod Touch), and at $2.99, it's a perfectly affordable call-back to side-scrolling arcade beat-em-ups like Final Fight and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The artwork is great, the animations are smooth, and the game really carries over the absurd humor of the best-selling novel.
You control Elizabeth Bennett through 12 levels with an unobtrusive touch-sensitive joystick that appears on the lower left hand corner of the screen, conducting finger tapping and swiping motions to deal damage to the undead with your sword. You can watch a demo of the game (developed by Freeverse) here, or purchase the app directly from the iTunes store. If Jane Austen owned an iPhone, this is the relentless, zombie-killing game she'd want.
