
- I may not have been swept off my feet by the first trailer for Splice, but this new poster for the creature feature is certainly romancing me.
- Every actress in Hollywood is vying for the role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's Americanized adaptation of the Swedish hit novel/film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, while Deadline reports that the lead male role is Brad Pitt's to either take or giveaway.
- Paramount has pushed back the release of Mission: Impossible 4 to December 16th, 2011 in order to make room (according to some) for J.J. Abrams' Super 8 as a summer 2011 release. Additionally, it's been confirmed that Brad Bird will indeed direct the fourth installment.
- Michael Imperioli has joined the cast of Foreclosure, which is presumably a horror movie considering The Hollywood Reporter says the tagline is "ghosts don't move out".
- Project Runway's Tim Gunn will have one of the live-action roles in the upcoming Smurfs movie. Other humans will be played by Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria and Sofia Vergara.
- The Wilhelm Scream announces its retirement, blames Spielberg for keeping his career going on longer than it should have.
- The AV Club's Marmaduke comparison guide is the greatest summer movie guide of all time.
- Pajiba's notorious video editor, hh, is at it again, this time with a brilliant compilation of people screaming "Get out of there!" in movies. Great stuff, as always:
- Quentin Dupieux (whose musical alter-ego is Mr. Oizo) has made a movie called Rubber about a telepathic tire named Robert that seeks revenge on humans after discovering a pile of burning tires. It will be playing in the Cannes Film Festival this month.
