Universal announcing plans to do a new installment in a relatively successful comedy franchise comes as no surprise, as the studio has been struggling lately with a series of commercially unsuccessful "serious" films like 'Public Enemies,' 'State of Play' and 'Green Zone.' Universal also recently scrapped production on the thriller 'Cartel' a mere five weeks before shooting was scheduled to commence. The revenge drama was set to star Josh Brolin. Oliver Parker will direct the project from a script by 'Mr. Bean's Holiday's' Hamish McColl. Production on the sequel is set to begin in August.
