'Davy Crockett' star Fess Parker has died.As first reported by indieWIRE's Leonard Maltin, the legendary star of film and television died Thursday of natural causes. He was 85.
In addition to 'Davy Crockett,' Parker had numerous appearances on the big screen, with roles in films like 'Old Yeller' and 'Westward Ho!', among others. He also starred in the TV vehicle 'Daniel Boone' for over 150 episodes.
Recalling Parker's career, Maltin wrote, "Like millions of other kids, I idolized Davy Crockett and the man who played him, Fess Parker ... so this is a sad day for me and other lifelong fans, even though I know he lived a good life for more than 85 years."
