Oddly spelt supermodel Agyness Deyn has made her acting debut in a 12 minute black and white noir style film directed by artists David McDermott and Peter McGough. Which all sounds more pretentious than a mime artist smoking a cheroot in a Shoreditch loft conversion. Or is that just us?The film, entitled Mean To Me, received a glowing review from Vanity Fair who singled Deyn out for particular praise, excitedly (and possibly slightly prematurely) describing her as the "next Faye Dunaway". In the film, Deyn plays a money obsessed woman who is dumped by her wealthy boyfriend (Law & Order's Linus Roache and son of Coronation Street's William Roache).

It's rumoured that Agyness is keen to leave behind the world of modelling after taking acting classes. When asked about her new profession she said: "(Acting) is the opposite of modeling. You have to be so vulnerable and be something of a vessel, whereas in modeling you have to appear very strong."
Previously she took a break from acting to dip her toe into music, providing guest vocals on the Five O'Clock Hero's record 'Who' - which is basically the musical equivalent of starring in a short black and white noir style film directed by two artists...
Past models who have attempted to branch out into acting include Cindy Crawford in 1995's Fair Game, Claudia Schiffer in 2001's Pursuit and Naomi Campbell, apologising for throwing a phone at her maid in 2007. Although the one thing that ties all of their performances together is their complete lack of success, we wish Miss Deyn all the best in her endeavour but will need to see a little more than a short vanity project to convince us she should give up her day job.
Have a look at a clip from her film below and let us know if you think Kate Winslet should start getting worried...
And here's a clip of her singing, just for comparison...
