When rebellious teen Ronnie (Cyrus) is forced to spend the summer with her father (Greg Kinnear), she gets more than she expected. She falls in love with young charmer Will Blakelee (Liam Hemsworth) and lets her guard down for the first time since her parents divorced. Now with a changed outlook, she begins to see her father in a new light and their bond strengthens.
