Despite his voiceover deal, you won't be hearing Jeff Bridges in any of Hyundai's commercials on Oscar night.Advertising Age is reporting that Bridges' Best Actor nomination for the film 'Crazy Heart' has prevented him from appearing in any commercials that air during Sunday night's telecast, due to a policy instated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
This initially put a fork in Hyundai's Oscars plans, as the car company planned to air seven commercials that featured Bridges' voice during the telecast. However, a plan B has since been created. With suggestions from Bridges himself, the commercials will now feature voiceover work from Kim Basinger, Richard Dreyfuss, David Duchovny, Catherine Keener, Michael Madsen, Mandy Patinkin and Martin Sheen -- further proof that it pays to be friends with Jeff Bridges.
