Role: Henry Hill
Then: Liotta had been a soap opera star before switching to film and earning a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of ex-con Ray Sinclair in Jonathan Demme's 'Something Wild.' Liotta reportedly turned down the role of Harvey Dent in 'Batman' to play Hill.

Ray Liotta
Now: Liotta has remained a solid film and television character actor, often playing law enforcement figures both serious ('Unlawful Entry,' 'Cop Land') and humorous ('Observe and Report'). In 2002, he turned in arguably his best performance since 'Goodfellas' as Henry Oak in the woefully underrated 'Narc.'

Role: James 'Jimmy' Conway
Then: With indelible roles in 'The Untouchables,' 'Once Upon a Time in America,' 'The Godfather Part II' and 'Mean Streets,' playing a gangster was old hat for the actor by the time he took the role of Jimmy Conway (a part originally offered to Al Pacino, who turned it down to be Big Boy Caprice in 'Dick Tracy.' Ouch.)

Joe Pesci
Role: Tommy DeVito
Then :Pesci had been acting since he was 5 years old, and was also in a band with fellow 'Goodfellas' alum Frank Vincent. 'Goodfellas' marked his third collaboration with De Niro after 1980's 'Raging Bull' and 1984's 'Once Upon a Time In America.' As Tommy DeVito, Pesci earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Now: Pesci has gone on to become one of Hollywood's most recognizable actors, appearing in the 'Lethal Weapon' and 'Home Alone' series and working with Scorsese again in 1995's 'Casino.' After a 12-year retirement from acting to pursue other interests, Pesci is set to return to film this year in Taylor Hackford's 'Love Ranch.'

Role: Karen Hill
Then: The Brooklyn-born Bracco moved to France when she was 20 to become a model and ended up acting in several French-language films before her U.S. debut in Ridley Scott's 'Someone to Watch Over Me.' Her portrayal of Karen Hill, Henry's wife, in 'Goodfellas' netted her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
