When Ewan McGregor was sitting through roughly his ten millionth Star Wars junket he decided to spice up his interview with a Dutch reporter by telling him they would be shooting Attack of the Clones actually in space. Looking back, you can't help but think that might have been a good idea (especially once we saw the quality of the next prequel) as can now be witnessed in the stunning images seen in the trailer for Hubble 3D, the upcoming IMAX movie focusing (pun intended) on the repair of the Hubble Telescope.

To create these eyeball-busting visuals, an IMAX 3D camera was taken into space, presumably, for the sole purpose of blowing our minds because if the trailer below wasn't spectacular enough, try and imagine it coming at you from an IMAX size screen. Let's just say you won't need to travel to James Cameron's imagination to see unearthly splendour.
Hubble 3D is the seventh effort from the IMAX space team and their very flashy website (imax.com/hubble) promises the film will be: "Full of hope, crushing disappointment, bravery and triumph."
The trailer is cut in a traditional 'epic movie' way with ominous fades to black, a gravely voice-over and shots of orange suited astronauts striding purposefully that will have you straining to see which one of them is Ben Affleck and which one is Bruce Willis. There is one naff CGI shot at the end but we imagine it's just a place holder for now as the film doesn't come out in the States until 19 March (possible Summer release in the UK).
Hubble3D will also be narrated by heartthrob cum environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio and is sure to be the best film about a telescope all year. Catch it on the biggest screen you can when it does arrive.
