Slated for a 2010 release, the game allows players to become members of Starfleet and interact through starship battles and planetside exploration. "In this game, the essence of Star Trek - exploration and adventure - lives long and prospers," Nimoy said in a press release from CBS. "I'm pleased that a whole new generation of fans will be able to discover new frontiers in the Star Trek universe."
I was hoping Abrams' Star Trek would be the last appearance of Nimoy as Spock, seeing as how the film is about as perfect a passing of the torch as anyone could ask for, but I have to admit, it will be very cool to hear his distinct voice ushering gamers into the MMORPG Trek world.
