Domestically, 'Avatar' brought in $73 million, a gross that was significantly affected by the snowstorm that slammed the East Coast over the weekend. Nonetheless, it was a solid performance, the second-biggest ever for a December release. Fox executives believe that strong word of mouth will help 'Avatar' earn just as much in its second weekend, meaning it could hit $200 million domestic before 2009 comes to a close.
The big money for 'Avatar' so far, though, is internationally, where it's already earned $159.2 million -- and it still has yet to open in Japan and China.

| No way! Without Jack and Rose, there will be no billion. |
