Is it a wonderful Shrek in the new 'Shrek Forever After' trailer?Well, the plot for the film, billed as the last 'Shrek' sequel ever, does seem to contain elements of the Frank Capra classic 'It's A Wonderful Life.' It's Shrek in a Far Far Away world as if he had never existed. The Donkey is afraid of him, Puss in Boots is a lazy domesticated house cat (no sign of his sword), and Fiona as an ogre is public enemy No. 1. Watch the trailer after the jump.

The animation looks very up to par, and Puss in Boots' interaction with a mouse is clever and funny.
Yet, the trailer doesn't exactly explain how all this came to be beyond referring to how Shrek has fallen under a curse, but early reports on Dreamwork's 'Shrek Forever After' has the green one becoming bored with domesticity and wondering what else is out there for him, much like Jimmy Stewart in 'It's A Wonderful Life.'
'Shrek Forever After,' in 3-D, is set for a May 21, 2010, release.
Dreamworks has also release a new poster in addition to the trailer.
