Monday in Westwood, Calif., the stars of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' hit the ultimate red carpet to debut the film, one which marks the culmination of months and months of effort, anticipation, and unending intrigue.
As a fan of the books, films and cast, it was an especially involved process to work the red carpet. Some fans had been camped out on the line for days just waiting for the chance to get into the premiere's sidelines and watch as the stars rolled out of their limousines and into the flashing lights.
Well worth it, no doubt.
When the first 'Twilight' star came onto the scene, the fun really began. Thankfully, one radio station had a lot of the 'Twilight' cast come up onto their platform to answer a few routine questions like "Team Edward or Team Jacob?" and to discuss whether they were really prepared for the increased interest in this film after last year's mega-hit 'Twilight.'
The general demeanor of the cast, though, answered the second line of inquiry unequivocally. They talked the talk, and they certainly walked the walk.
'Twilight' fans have staying power, and it's certainly no secret that we'll come out in droves in support of what is ostensibly our film series. So, when the stars were given the opportunity to speak to those Web sites that tirelessly promote their careers, many were thrilled and completely gracious.
Everyone from Stephenie Meyer and Robert Pattinson right on down to 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' newbie cutie Boo Boo Stewart came to speak to the fan community in attendance (both on the red carpet and on the sidelines with out-stretched books and memorabilia for signatures) and share their experiences in filming, working with one another and their plans for the future.
A rough estimation might be that 75 percent of those speaking with us, including Jackson Rathbone --"Jasper Hale'"in the series -- in the following red carpet footage, revealed that they had already seen 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' and that it was a film they felt sure that the fans were going to really sink their teeth into.
Needless to say, when the last star entered the Bruin theater on Broxton Avenue, the excitement continued everywhere as it was a wonderful reminder that 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' opens in theaters this Friday.
