According to the Sunday Mirror, Grint will replace original choice Steve Coogan in the production, which is due to begin filming next month while Grint finishes off filming on the second - and final - part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

As for Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, well he was working as a plasterer in Cheltenham when he represented Britain at the 1988 Winter Olympics in the ski-jumping competition. He finished last in both the 70m and 90m events, but somehow was embraced by the world as the ultimate underdog and arrived back at Heathrow to a crowd of 10,000 fans, a 25-strong police escort and a whole new life of private jets, personal appearances and a Top 50 single, Fly Eddie Fly.

Edwards may not be overjoyed on Grint gtting the role however - his preferred choice was Brad Pitt. Now that would have been a film worth seeing.
