With a new director, Melissa George gone and the direct-to-video element, fans have been skeptical about the 30 Days of Night: Dark Days sequel. Filming officially started earlier this week and a brand new cast has finally been announced.
Bloody-Disgusting reports that Rhys Coiro (Entourage, 24) and Mia Kirshner (The Black Dahlia, The L Word) will take on lead roles with Kirshner playing vampire villain 'Lilith'. Harold Perrineau (Lost), Kiele Sanchez (A Perfect Getaway), Diora Baird (Night of the Demons, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and Monique Ganderton (Smallville) will be filling out the cast. Ben Ketai remains as director and is no stranger to the series. He previously worked on the web series 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails and 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust.
