But instead of being leaden with grace (or drug-filled balloons, as it were), this Maria is equipped with fangs, which she employs to convert Civil War soldier Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) into a vampire. Kim Basinger is negotiating to play Zac Efron's mother in 'The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud,' a drama which casts Efron as a funeral caretaker who has weekly "meetings" with his recently deceased younger brother. Starting this Monday, Fox will distribute free tickets online for a 16-minute IMAX trailer for James Cameron's upcoming sci-fi epic 'Avatar.'
