Jennifer Aniston is heading to prison for 'Goree Girls.' She'll star in the real-life story an all-female country band that came together in a Texas jailhouse in the 1940s. The film is based on a 2003 Texas Monthly article about eight female inmates who formed one of the first all-girl Country & Western acts in the country, became a public hit and were eventually pardoned. Michael Sucsy ('Grey Gardens') will direct. [Variety]
Josh Duhamel is in talks to join Katherine Heigl for 'Life as We Know It,' a romantic drama about two unattached adults forced together when their mutual best friends die in a car accident and name them as guardians of their orphaned daughter. [Variety]
The Heath Ledger-directed music video for Modest Mouse's "King Rat" has been released -- and boy does it showcase Heath's Terry Gilliam-esque imagination. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is developing a Gothic reimagining of 'Little Red Riding Hood,' with 'Orphan' scribe David Leslie Johnson writing the screenplay. The classic tale tells of a wolf who disguises himself as a girl's sick grandma in an attempt to ambush (and eat) her. While the girl escapes in the Brothers' Grimm version, the earliest published take ends with the wolf enjoying a tasty Red Riding Hood repast. Wonder which this will be. [Variety]
Jason Segel has joined fellow Apatow favorites Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman in 'The Adventurer's Handbook.' Columbia has picked up 'Babe in the Woods,' an original action-comedy spec script penned by 'School of Rock' screenwriter Mike White. The story follows a female college freshman from the Midwest who arrives at Yale only to become a prime target of the New Jersey mob. [Variety]
